Answers:
You probably aren't seeing it in your books because they have started using it to treat Discoid Lupus ( the skin type ) fairly recently. It is usually used only in severe cases or cases that have been resistant to other treatments. Accutane is a very potent drug, it can have varying side affects and is very dangerous for un-born babies. For this reason you will be required to be on two forms of birth control for the entire time you are taking it. Before your Doctor gives you this medication, he will give you a packet that explains all of this. Accutane can do miracles for some people, I wish you the best. I know how hard Lupus is to live with, my good friend has both Discoid and Systemic Lupus.
