Answers:
No two people with MS experience exactly the same symptoms and likewise no two people react the same to drug treatment. There are some drugs that can be taken to help with the various symptoms and also some that help with disease itself.

It is not good nor recommended to go down the illegal substance route but to to take professional advice of Neurologist and those with expert experience.

When on treatment it is sensible to keep a log so that accurate feedback can be provided.

A professional recommended site reference treatments is found at

There are also various other sites available such as http://www.mstrust.org, suggest do google search.

Hope this helps.

There is one drug, a chemotherapeutic agent, which has also been approved by the FDA and is recommended by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It too is a disease modifying drug and can help to reduce the number of onsets of symptoms. It helps particularly with those who suffer from the secondary progressive and relapsing remitting forms of multiple sclerosis. It has also been shown to help slow down the disability in those who suffer from the progressive relapsing variety of MS.

It is vital to discuss the options with your Doctor before making any decisions. Ask him or her about the latest FDA approvals for treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Alongside the drugs that are available there are a number of therapies that can help offer relief from the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and some patients have found them to also help reduce the problems associated with the disorder. In particular the symptoms such as bladder weakness, pain, spasticity, sexual problems and reasoning issues have associated therapies available.

Managing a life with multiple sclerosis can be made easier by being fully aware of the various drugs and therapies available. Detrol is the brand name of a drug that is most frequently used to manage bladder weakness in multiple sclerosis patients. Tofranil is another and also helps with relieving pain. There are meds for managing constipation (Colace, Dulcolax), depression (Paxil, Effexor), fatigue (Prozac), nausea and vomiting (Anetivert), sexual problems in men (Cialis, Levitra), different forms of pain and spasticity, tremors (Laniazid, Nydrazid), UTIs (DDAVP), and of course the disease modifying agents.
