Why do people eat until fat?

Question:
I was walking down the street and saw an over weight person. Why would people do such a thing? I mean, if you know your gonna get fat if you keep eating a certain food, why do you keep going on and getting fat? That is the main reason why America is the fattest country.

Answers:
It depends on a lot of factors. Genetics is one of them. Family example is another. If you have overweight parents, it's likely that you too will be overweight.

But for most of us, weight comes on over time and you don't realize it. It's almost like you wake up one day and realize you're fat.

Hormones play apart, especially in women. Pregnancy puts on pounds. There are many reasons it happens.

Other Answers:
It isnt that easy. Food is delicious.

Well on reason is medicine, some medications have side affects that make you really hungry. I heard that there was this little girl that would eat 4 gallons of ice cream a night because it made her so hungry.

It involves many things. sometimes it's a disorder. just understand the person, they dont really want to be fat like that.

Actually, people eat the right amount. But, they tend to be far too inactive or lazy.

Depression.

Just realize that people are not overweight on purpose or because they want to be (for the most part). People who are overweight usually either have trouble controlling what they eat or have another problem going on (depression, stress, overworked, etc). I don't think that overweight people are necessarily lazy. Most people should be more active. However, many people who are overweight (and have been overweight most of their lives) never learned healthy habits as children and teens. The hardest habit to break is poor eating choices. You can't stop food cold turkey! (no pun intended)

1. some people have a disorder where their brain does not recive a signal that thier stomach is full so they just keep on eating.
2. the added prservitves and fat in fast food causes people to gain weight. I mean a guy sued Mc Donalds for getting him fat. it wasn't like they taied him down and forced fed him.
