How should I treat my Bipolar Husband?
Is it true that its impossible to have AIDS and Lupus?
Answers:
well it all depends on how bi-polar he is. Try to notice what makes his mood change? How often does it happen? Is there a cycle that you may be able to predict? Most importantly talk to him about it, ask him how he wants you to deal with it. If he is truly bi-polar, he should be getting therapy and meds. Maybe you can see the therapist with him and the therapist might be able to help. If you have any questions about Bi-polar disorder, or manic depressive disorder feel free to ask.

In general, no differently than you would treat him if he wasn't suffering from bipolar disorder. Supportively during times of depression. And don't forget to take care of yourself too! It can sometimes be difficult seeing someone you love depressed.what are the symptoms of a cold?
Like a human being. He's a person too. Just like anyone else.Ultimately a physician should treat him for his condition but in regards to how you should act towards him; support him but also get some support for yourself. Treat him like you would want to be treated. You could even try a support group at a local hospital or clinic, many have such groups for family members to learn ways to be supportive but also not get burned out by care giving.
Try to encourage him to take his medication if he is on any and to keep his appointments. Talk to him about your concerns. Good luck, hope this helps. One more thing, try looking up info at the National Institute of Mental Health, they may have some good tips. Take care

I'm bipolar 1, and will tell you this. If your husband in not on medication, or not taking the medication his doctor has prescribed, you can treat him any way you please because you're in a no win situation. He'll be a moody, cranky, completely dissatisfied S.O.B. no matter what. On the other hand, if he is on medication, effective medication, then you can treat him any way you please because his brain chemistry will be functioning properly, and if he smacks you in the mouth you can rely on it being a reaction to something you did he truly did't like.I intended what I just said to be a little humerous, but it's also true. I would mention, though, if he's not on medication, see that he gets on it. Bipolar disorder is not at all fun and can be very dangerous.
