Answers: I am for stem cell research; I am against destroying unborn babies in directive to do it. There are studies that show cells from adults in fact have better results, and indistinguishable kind of stem cell taken from fetuses are also found in umbilical cord blood, which normally is just thrown away. I would also be okay next to using cells from babies who are miscarried or stillborn beside the parents' permission, since that primarily amounts to organ donation.
There is no excuse for using the cells of babies who should not own died. I realize the parents would have abort anyway but killing an unborn child for your own convenience is horrifically immoral and I just can't bring myself to dispense people the excuse that somehting upright can come out of that.
If those doing the research would make it a priority to fire up new parents to donate umbilical cord blood or uplift parents of babies who die in the womb to donate their child's remains for research we could go and get a LOT farther with stem cell research because 99% of the debate is not nearly whether or not to cure disease, it's about whether or not to use abort fetuses. Almost no one in reality wants to exclude stem cell research altogether (regardless of how the media spins it)...a stem cell bill that allowed the research but did not allow the use of abort babies would make it through congress but the stupid liberals aren't feeling like to give that up.
